Itinerary
Day1, Drive from Pokhara to Kimrong – Trek to Chhomrong (2,170 m)
Drive: 3–4 hours | Trek: 5–6 hours Your journey begins early in the morning with a scenic drive from Pokhara through lush hills, terraced farmlands, and traditional villages toward Kimrong. The drive offers beautiful views of the Annapurna range and rural life in western Nepal. From Kimrong, the trek begins on a well-defined trail that descends briefly before ascending through stone staircases, rhododendron forests, and small settlements. You will pass charming Gurung villages, cross suspension bridges, and enjoy stunning views of Annapurna South, Hiunchuli, and Machhapuchhre (Fishtail). By late afternoon, you reach Chhomrong, a beautiful village perched on a hillside and considered the gateway to the Annapurna Sanctuary. Meal: Lunch and Dinner Overnight: Tea house/lodge in Chhomrong.
Day2, Trek from Chhomrong to Dovan (3,100 m) – Into the Annapurna Sanctuary
Trek Duration: 5–6 hours After breakfast, the trail descends steeply via stone steps to the Chhomrong Khola, followed by a gradual ascent to Sinuwa. From here, the landscape becomes more alpine as you enter dense bamboo, oak, and rhododendron forests. The trek continues through Bamboo and Himalaya, following the Modi Khola upstream. The air becomes cooler, and the scenery more dramatic as towering cliffs rise on both sides, marking your entry into the sacred Annapurna Sanctuary. You reach Dovan by late afternoon, a quiet stop surrounded by forests and mountain silence. Meal: Breakfast, Lunch and Dinner Overnight: Tea house/lodge in Dovan.
Day3, Trek from Dovan to Annapurna Base Camp (4,130 m)
Trek Duration: 5–6 hour Today is the most rewarding and memorable day of the trek. The trail ascends gradually through Deurali, where vegetation thins and the terrain becomes more rugged. After Deurali, the landscape opens dramatically as you walk into the heart of the Annapurna Sanctuary. Passing Machhapuchhre Base Camp (MBC), you are surrounded by a complete amphitheater of snow-capped peaks. A final gentle ascent leads you to Annapurna Base Camp (ABC) at 4,130 meters. Standing at ABC, you are encircled by giants such as Annapurna I (8,091 m), Annapurna South, Himchuli, Gangapurna, and Machhapuchhre—a truly unforgettable Himalayan experience. Meal: Breakfast, Lunch and Dinner Overnight: Tea house/lodge at Annapurna Base Camp.
Day4, Trek from Annapurna Base Camp to Bamboo (2,340 m)
Wake early to witness a spectacular sunrise over the Annapurna massif, where golden light illuminates the surrounding peaks—a highlight of the trek. After breakfast, begin your descent retracing the same route through MBC, Deurali, and Dovan. As you lose altitude, oxygen levels increase, and the forest landscape gradually returns. You reach Bamboo by late afternoon, nestled among dense bamboo and rhododendron forests. Meal: Breakfast, Lunch and Dinner Overnight: Tea house/lodge in Bamboo.
Day5, Trek from Bamboo to Jhinu Danda (1,800 m) – Forests, Waterfalls & Hot Springs
Trek Duration: 5–6 hours The trail today includes both ascents and descents through lush forests and traditional villages. After passing Sinuwa, you climb back to Chhomrong, then descend toward Jhinu Danda, famous for its natural hot springs. In the afternoon, you can take a relaxing walk down to the Jhinu Hot Springs, located beside the Modi Khola. Soaking in the warm pools is the perfect way to ease tired muscles after several days of trekking. Meal: Breakfast, Lunch and Dinner Overnight: Tea house/lodge in Jhinu Danda.
Day6, Trek from Jhinu Danda to Nayapul – Drive Back to Pokhara
Trek: 2 hours | Drive: 1 hour After breakfast, begin a short and pleasant trek along the river trail to Nayapul, passing villages and terraced fields. This marks the end of your trekking adventure. From Nayapul, drive back to Pokhara, where the trek officially concludes. Upon arrival, you can enjoy a well-deserved rest by Phewa Lake or explore the city at leisure. Meal: Breakfast and Lunch
